Marvel Universe MMO Will Be Free To Play

We’d ask what took so long, but we’re afraid they’d actually answer. Marvel has finally revealed some new details about its upcoming MMO that’s sort of like that other superhero MMO. No, not City of Heroes. And what better time to announce new details about said MMO than now that that MMO is out of commission for half its fans.

Marvel Universe will be, apart from creatively named, “a grand, epic tour, a reimagining of some of the biggest events in Marvel history.” The man we’re quoting there is Brian Michael Bendis, Ultimate universe creator and the now official writer for the game. The game will also be free to play, which is much more important to know now that it’s actually got a shot at having some decent plotlines. Now if only they could get as good a designer in there, but that’s asking a bit too much. At least we’ll have something good to read while we fetch those Sentinel kidneys or whatever.

PSN Breach Being Looked Into By FBI & Homeland Security

If this were a Hollywood movie, this is where the guys who breached PSN security would need to start typing extra fast, because Sony is getting a little help from its friends, the US government. We guess FBI and Homeland security are now official members of the Sony Defense Force. Now unless North Korea and China come out and declare Xbox Live as their favorite platform in the next few days, this should pretty much end any fanboy flame war on the spot.

“The FBI is aware of the reports concerning the alleged intrusion into the Sony on line game server and we have been in contact with Sony concerning this matter,” according to FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth. “We are presently reviewing the available information in an effort to determine the facts and circumstances concerning this alleged criminal activity.” Man, Geohot wasn’t kidding about the FBI.

Connect A Sketch Lets You Collaborate On Art

Because Etch A Sketch is still a relevant form of creative diversion for many, design student Andrew Little did the medium a favor with his Connect A Sketch project. The whole point is rather than work all by your lonesome, why not reach out to a collaborator and together produce a kickass drawing?

To date the Connect A Sketch is still in its conceptual phase and the only existing prototype are two hacked Etch A Sketch’s with connectors. Andrew’s ultimate goal is to create a website where users can log in to find like minded Connect A Sketch enthusiasts. When this will all come together, we honestly don’t know.

We all love to leave personal messages for one another, be it productive or playful, Connect A Sketch was designed to take this interaction to a larger scale.  The reason I chose to do this through an Etch A Sketch is because of my appreciation of the toy I grew up with.

Snug QTVan Is A Real Cutie

It’s like a mobile home for dwarfs. Meant to be pulled by scooter, the QTVan’s inside is a cramped bed space that has just enough spare room for an LCD TV and perhaps a game console or two. We think the QTVan’s target market are homeless people, kids on the run, and outlaw bikers who don’t want to endure the rigors of the highway.

Even if it risks becoming an object of derision, the QTVan might prove incredibly useful in several long range enterprises. Off the top of our heads indie musicians will definitely love this for affordability and usefulness. Most unsigned bands who barely have enough money to record an album either commute from gig to gig or drive a minivan. If either way is not an option, the QTVan probably is. It can’t fit a drum set and the rest of the band will be hard pressed for space. But hey, people can sleep inside, right?

ePowered Razor Scooters Are A Menace To Society

One of them shoots fire and the other is a sidewalk vandal’s dream. Since Razor Scoters he been taking a beating in the popularity department these last few years, the company has been at pains reinventing their iconic product for a new generation. To capture the hearts and minds of today’s younglings (and a few adults who don’t want to pay for gas), two new models were recently unveiled.

Now look at the pic up north. Below is the Grafitti, which leaves a trail of smeared writing wherever the scooter goes. On top of it is the eSpark, which bles sparks for that fast and furious effect. Wait until the eSpark is ridden around a firework s factory. There’ll be sparks for sure!

It would have been cooler to attach something that goes pew pew at front.

Dumb humor aside, if you like either of these the chalk goes for $59.99 while the eSpark almost thrice that.

Ever Heard Of The Endeavor Satellites?

In case you haven’t noticed (thanks a lot to non-stop William-Kate wedding news), the space shuttle Endeavour is supposed to have launched by now. Never mind that it’s been delayed a bit cos the important news we want to share are these fingernail sized satellites the crew have with them.

That’s right, fully functional satellites the size of a fingernail (okay, at least slightly bigger). Dubbed Sprites, the sats up in orbit are slated to undergo rigorous testing to see how they hold up in space. If successful, the Sprites are to b deployed in large numbers for long term missions to distant stars. It’s almost something out of Mass Effect.

Cool, huh?
